Jerome Lussan – CEO, Laven Group
Jerome is the founder and CEO of Laven Partners. His background includes acting as a COO of a hedge fund and as a financial lawyer at Jones Day. Jerome has a broad degree of expertise in the fund management industries, specialising in operational risk and regulatory matters with a focus on the alternative sector. His most recent experience covered CTAs (FX and futures) and prior to that he also worked in the private equity and real estate sectors. Through his work as a consultant he has covered many fund of hedge funds and single strategies covering equity long short, fixed income, and credit. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and of the CFA Society of the UK. Jerome holds an LLB from the University of Edinburgh. He was previously named by Financial News as one of its 100 Rising Stars, and as one of its 40 under 40 Rising Stars in Hedge Funds. Jerome Lussan is also the author of the Financial Times Guide to Investing in Funds.
Tanja Ferri – Managing Director
Tanja has been with Laven Partners since 2007 and heads Laven Partners’ Operational Due Diligence department. She provides due diligence reviews and advice to a variety of clients from private banks and pension funds to family offices, across a range of asset classes. In particular, Tanja leads a number of Laven Partners’ illiquid assets focused projects, from private equity and real estate to private debt. She also has a keen interest in ESG and impact investing. Tanja previously led Laven Partners’ corporate governance and operations consulting business in the Caribbean. Prior to joining Laven Partners, Tanja worked at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France. She holds a BA in European Studies from Goldsmiths College, University of London and is currently studying towards a Masters in Environmental Sustainability with University College Dublin.
Linhao Guo – Director
Linhao is a director at Laven Partners. He focuses on corporate finance, investment due diligence and risk controls across a wide range of both liquid and illiquid asset classes, specialising in analysing investment performance, asset allocations, valuation, risk reporting and risk processes. Linhao is also experienced in regulatory reporting including AIFMD Annex IV reports. Prior to joining Laven Partners, Linhao trained and qualified as a chartered certified accountant at Leapman Weiss (Charted Accountants), gaining experience in accountancy, finance, audit and tax on a diverse range of clients. Linhao graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, China with a Bachelor degree in Business Management. He is a CFA Charterholder.
George Wood – Director
George is the product manager for the Laven software suite and leads the North American operational due diligence team, providing particular expertise in front office systems, business continuity and IT infrastructure. He performs due diligence assessments on a variety of asset classes and strategies, from hedge funds to private equity and real estate. George joined Laven Partners in 2013 as an operational due diligence consultant. He is a technology professional within financial services having spent 15 years implementing technology products and reporting solutions for investment management and financial services firms such as T. Rowe Price, LPL Financial, Calvert Investments, EverBank and D&B. George was previously a Senior Vice President at NASDAQ-listed Viewpoint Corporation, where he was responsible for financial reporting and the application of Sarbanes-Oxley accounting controls. George is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
Pierre-Edouard Coiffard – Senior Consultant
Pierre-Edouard works with the due diligence department and has over 20 years of experience in the fund industry. He has an extensive background in sourcing, analysing and monitoring managers as well as strategies, across all styles and asset classes. Pierre-Edouard previously occupied positions as CIO and Head of Research at Olympia Capital Management, Integrated Asset Management and Altigefi. Prior to moving into alternative funds, he was a consultant in the Finance department at Deloitte Touche & Tohmatsu. Pierre-Edouard holds an MBA from ESSEC and is also a graduate engineer from Ecole Centrale de Marseille.
Keith Tomlinson – Senior Consultant
Keith is a Senior Consultant at Laven Partners. He has worked in the investment industry for over 25 years, ranging from stockbroking to wealth management. In May 2013, Keith founded Tomlinson Research, an independent investment research company specialising in alternative strategies. He is an innovator in the use of technology to automate and accelerate investment due diligence. Previously, Keith was Director of Research and Portfolio Management at Generation Asset Management, where he oversaw manager search, selection and monitoring as well as private client portfolio management. Keith holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia (1989) and received the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation in 1997.
Priscilla Babs – GDPR Consultant
Priscilla is a GDPR Consultant at Laven and has extensive experience working on global GDPR projects and other regulatory compliance matters. In her most recent positions she worked on ensuring that business processes, policies, procedures and systems comply with the GDPR regulations. She has a great track record of successfully conducting GAP analyses, data flow mapping, recording of processing activities and conducting third party assessments. Priscilla previously worked at the Standard Chartered Bank and BlueBay Asset Management. Priscilla holds an LLB Law degree from Delta State University in Nigeria.
